LAND OF COCONUTS

Land of Coconuts

Kerala is the land of Coconuts (Kera), rivers, rain and backwaters
The name Kerala derived from Coconut
The State has 560 km length & 60 km breadth
44 rivers, 34 lakes & 448 Km of inland water ways are their in Kerala
We constructed 30 dams exist across the rivers




Uses made by coconut

Trunk & leaves for building & thatching house
Pulp is used for curry preparations
Coconut Oil is used for cooking and on hair
Shell is used as firewood / Outer fiber is used to make coir
Tree sap is used as mild alcoholic drink – Toddy Yield of toddy in the State is 60,000 litres daily whereas selling is 6.5 lakh litres - Ten times higher !
Tender coconut is used as a health drink
